Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Sarah.

I'm a licensed psychotherapist from the U.S. specializing in EMDR trauma therapy. For the past seven years I've been supporting individuals recovering from abuse, trauma, and PTSD.

Several years ago, one of my clients tragically died by suicide.

Talk therapy helped support me through this time, but it didn't allow me to release the deep pain my body was holding.

I needed something beyond words. So I drove to the ocean for my first surf lesson.

After multiple losses and years of chronic stress, I felt emotionally depleted and disconnected from myself. The ocean exposed all of this.

A few months after my first surf lesson, I decided to take a solo trip to a surf retreat in Nicaragua. That experience truly changed the way I felt in my body. The community held beautiful space for me as I moved through my grief and the ocean became a place where I could find my way back to myself.

For the first time in years, I could finally relax, breathe, and truly feel again.

It wasn't just about surfing — it was about reconnecting with my body in the context of nature and a safe community. It was about rediscovering my sense of curiosity, joy, and aliveness. I felt my nervous system calm, my mind expand, and my beliefs about my identity begin to shift.

What started as something deeply personal slowly grew into the vision for Creative Flow Retreats. Now, I want to create that same healing space for others — combining what I know as a trauma therapist with my own experience of healing.

This retreat is not about becoming someone new. It's about returning to the parts of you that are brave, curious, and alive.
